Mushroom Cloud Productions is pleased to announce that a complete website showcasing the start-up production company's debut film has been launched and is now accessible to the public through www.eatthemushroom.com.
"Our goal was to make the site as complete as possible," explains would-be web-designer Christian Twiste. "Of course, it still needed a nice look and feel, but—given the low profile of our litte group—the main focus was providing enough information for people to learn about the film.
"Therefore, you might think you'd find all the features you'd expect from a Hollywood-sized site," Christian continues to explain, "but, unfortunately, you'd be wrong. I never said we actually succeeded in our goals. "
Mushroom Cloud Productions reports that, in addition to preording the film on DVD through the online store, website users will be able to download the trailer, join the discussion using online forums, sign up to receive updates via e-mail, and read all about the production.
In order to generate greater interest in the film and encourage people to preorder their copy today, all preorders of the DVD include a free poster as an added bonus.
The website was designed and developed by Mushroom Cloud Productions to take advantage of the high-quality graphics and interactive features available in Macromedia's FLASH authoring environment. According to the company, using FLASH has enabled them to seemlessly incorporate images from the film in a manner not possible using traditional HTML techniques.
The launch of this website marks Mushroom Cloud Productions first entry into the marketplace and the three founding members are committed to ensuring it's success.
"And if we aren't successful," explains Self Appointed President (SAP) Geoffrey Ciani, "we can always sell the domain name. Once Congress gets around to legalizing drugs, it should be worth something."
